I'm all for a 1.2 branch but lets get the first maven release for core and tomahawk out the door first. We also need to keep in mind our other ideas: JIRA reorg, Tobago assimiliation, ADF incubator. IMO these are all higher priority then the 1.2 impl.
Each new idea takes a lot of effort. The maven reorg took a lot of time and effort. It was worth it but it took several weeks to work through it. After the release and JIRA reorg I think we should dive into Tobago and get the properly assimilated with MyFaces. Then there is ADF faces. Most of us have not looked too closely at their source code. We need to start coming up with a long term strategy and timeline on how that will be assimilated.
