All of the points in this thread are valid, I trust those of you taking the lead on this
part of the process will do a good job. I will get grumpy if the RC resembles "hey,
I think the trunk is ready to go".

would like to help on this, so if any of you get a build, please post a URL to

Given that we are going to ask for the final 1.1.4 jars to be tested,
are you willing to run the tests in advance against either the
snapshots that now exist, [1] or against a 1.1.4-RC1 build?

If not, we'll just tag 1.1.4, hope for the best, and be willing to
move on to 1.1.5 if there's a problem. (I assume that you can report
pass/fail on the public list, just no details. (??))

(Aside: we need to decide whether we are using release candidates
like Jakarta Commons, or test builds that get graded later like Tomcat
and Struts.)

All of this can be improved by getting more committers to sign the TCK NDA and
subscribing to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list.

Will do. :) That is, I found the NDA form on
http://www.apache.org/jcp/ and assume it just gets sent to the same
place as the iCLA form.
