Yes that is true - I also marked that issue to be resolved later.
If I understand it right the extension elements are supposed to be used by jsf implementations. The structure of these elements is not defined. So it is rather hard to implement something without knowing what to implement. When I started to work on this issue I misinterpret this issue as I though it is related to the new xml config elements el-resolver and resource-bundle. That is the reason why I started to implement them through this issue. BTW I didn't found the right issue for el-resolver and resource-bundle. Mathias, I'm reading your commit messages, and maybe I'm misunderstanding your reasons for resolving this. Did you mean that you implemented it as far as was required, or that there was more work to be done to support it?
