I agree on this. I think we were talking about the subproject being named jsf-portlet-bridge or portlet bridge. Should the Jira issues list be the same? Also, presumably this project will cover future JSR's on this same API.

It's probably too late to do anything about it, but JSR301 seems like
a poor name for a few reasons. First, it's not obvious to which
apache project the JSR301 issue key belongs, nor is it clear to the
uniformed what JSR301 stands for. It'd be the same as naming MyFaces
JSR127. Second, there's no reason why another apache project
couldn't implement JSR301 as well, causing confusion. Yes, there
are apache projects that implement the same JSR, for example Cayenne
and OpenJPA. Third, what happens when down the road JSF Portlet
Bridge 2.0 becomes JSR456?

Hi Manfred,

;)

take MyFaces Portlet Bridge!

I wrongly assumed there could be more than one key, but hey, why would
they say key to it then? - take JSR301

Martin

"yes to all suggestions" is funny.
I cannot name the project both "MyFaces JSR-301" AND "MyFaces Portlet
Bridge" and give it the key "JSR301" AND "PBRIDGE".

Hi Manfred,

yes to all suggestions - you can put me as a project lead for now,
we'll reevaluate later (obviously, the EG lead Michael Freedman will
be a good project lead when he joins the team).

Martin

Should be able to add a new jira project myself.
What I need first:
- name: "MyFaces JSR-301" sounds very technical :( Is "MyFaces
Portlet Bridge" ok?
- key: "JSR301", "PBRIDGE", ...?
- url: http://myfaces.apache.org/jsr301/ ?
- a project lead ?

filing an issue against infra is correct.
Manfred should be able to do that.

Hi Stan,

as this new portlet bridge will not be lumped in to the
MyFaces-implementation, this should rather be a new project, just like
Orchestra and RCF.

Mario, Matthias, Manfred - requesting a new subproject in jira =
request on infrastructure, right?

Martin

I'm starting to look at the code Scott posted for JSR-301. I'd like to
go ahead and start logging issues that can be quickly cleared up as soon
as the code is committed.

Can we go ahead and add a "JSR-301" component to jira?

We already have a "Portlet_Support" component, but that is for the old
bridge. I think it would be a good idea to add "JSR-301" so we don't
get them mixed up.
