Hi Andrew and Matthias,
I fully agree. But please don't forget that if a certain (whatever)
DOCTYPE can be selected, that also all generated code should conform to
that DOCTYPE! Maybe that could be a reason not to allow certain types?

does not allow to validate the output as XHTML
