Interesting blog. I will say however that although the JCP "allows" much of this to happen, most of it depends on the EG. JSR-301 for instance has taken community feedback and the spec was written hand in hand with the prototype. While I too lost some arguments or would have liked some minor details changed, I think the spec is far better then any one person could have come up with on their own.
