Hi Matthias, I don't think I understand what Blake said (I hope you did) - I don't see why it would be a problem if the parent components haven't pushed themselves on the stack. However, here is my very pragmatic thoughts with regards to this:
>>> I read up on the UIComponent.visitTree and it says its implementation >>> has to call pushComponentToEL()/popComponentFromEL() >>> before/after the processing. Somehow I feel that we may should do this >>> on the setParent() call as well. I don't think so, as the push/pop functionality is specifically around for usage of PDL-components. Now why (and how) would a PDL component in a PDL statement refer to this EL-attribute? It doesn't have a chance to do so. So while it is possible to push the component here, I am missing the practical use. regards, Martin -- http://www.irian.at Your JSF powerhouse - JSF Consulting, Development and Courses in English and German Professional Support for Apache MyFaces
