I don't think I understand what Blake said (I hope you did) - I don't
see why it would be a problem if the parent components haven't pushed
themselves on the stack. However, here is my very pragmatic thoughts
with regards to this:

I don't think so, as the push/pop functionality is specifically around
for usage of PDL-components. Now why (and how) would a PDL component
in a PDL statement refer to this EL-attribute? It doesn't have a
chance to do so. So while it is possible to push the component here, I
am missing the practical use.
