resource injection depends on implementation details of the cdi container.
e.g. owb-standalone provides an optional plugin for it (which needs to be added
explicitly).
imo it's more important to do null checks (before we set fields)
-> +1 for delegating to the cdi container and only do the injection if the ref.
is still null afterwards.
