Hi, folks, here is a short overview over the current situation:
After almost 3 years of development, we are now quite ready to build a final Tobago 3 release. The world (especially the browsers) have changed since the start of Tobago 1. CSS3 and HTML5 are much more powerful. Most important changes of Tobago 3 are: * LayoutManager moved from Server to CSS (or JS in limited cases) * Themes using CSS lib Bootstrap [1] * Responsiveness * Simplify many things with current technology * Easier to integrate Tobago in other projects * Easier to integrate Libs in Tobago * In general: do less magic, but more standard The complete list you find of course in the Jira [2]. Currently we have only the standard theme. The other themes have only some colors changed, but are not fascinating. So I tent to exclude the themes (scarborough, speyside, richmond, charlotteville) from the release. By the way: Has anyone developed a nice Bootstrap 4 theme which can be donated to Tobago? It would be nice to have a read different theme. Also some examples are no longer in active development (test, addressbook). Some of its content should be migrated to the "demo", before removing them, but this may be done later. We should them also exclude from the release. At the end of this week I would like to make a first beta, and one week later I expect the final 3.0.0. Comments welcome!
