Paulo Cristovão de Araújo Silva Filho commented on MYFACES-4203:

[~tandraschko], I really mean 2.3.0. I was waiting it`s release to check. It's
different from 4131 cause spec 1102 is meant to use without a backing bean
list, as in this:
<ui:repeat begin="0" end="4" var="pos">
  <p>Line #{pos}</p>
This should print 5 paragraphs, the first with text "Line 0" and the last with
text "Line 4", even if it does not have a backing bean list.

Tested released 2.3.0 using Tomcat 9 and Tomee 7 (exchanged myfaces api/impl)
and the 2.3.0 complains about the size of dataModel, when it should not be a
problem in the case.

Tested the patched 2.3.1-SNAPSHOT in both scenarios and all the lists on the
provided xhtml where correctly rendered.

> Verson 2.3.0 not compliant with JSF spec 1102 on UIRepeat

> Priority: Major

> Attachments: index.xhtml, myfaces-spec1102.diff
> As described at [https://github.com/javaee/javaserverfaces-spec/issues/1102]
> , UIRepeat should behave as c:forEach when given a begin and an end
> parameter, without any model.
> Mojarra impl already does that, as the deployment of the attached xhtml shows
> (althought it has some issues of her own on rerender).
> There's also a patch built on 2.3.0 version. Due to time restrictions, I
> couldn't make a unit test for the change, but the patched myfaces versions
> passes on all other tests and behaves on other jsf projects. Hope you can
> grab the changes.
