Javi Roman commented on MYRIAD-257: ----------------------------------- H [~mohitsoni], vagrant-libvirt support OSX, but using qemu emulation instead of KVM hypervisor. This means that we can use the same Vagrant file, probably changing only the reference to the hypervisor. We have another option for OSX, anyway, we can use vagrant-parallel provider probably better performance than qemu emulation, and for sure better performance than VirtualBox. Nevertheless, whatever virtualization provider we use for Linux or OSX we can create only one Vagrant file for all of then, without breaking the platform support. > Support for Vagrant testbed based on libvirt (KVM) > -------------------------------------------------- > > Key: MYRIAD-257 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYRIAD-257 > Project: Myriad > Issue Type: Improvement > Reporter: Javi Roman > Priority: Minor > > The current testbed based on Vagrant is created for using VirtualBox. Based > in my experience with multi-machine Vagrant clusters, the performance of KVM > is really much better. > Developments with Vagrant-libvirt testbed with more than 10 virtual machines > (DCOS local deployments) are possible with KVM, the same scenario with > VirtualBox is really difficult. > This is a proposal for enhance the Myriad local development environment based > on Vagrant. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v7.6.3#76005)
