Hello Gaute,

"

he biggest news is probably the upcoming national OpenOffice.org conference in March, organised by the Norwegian OpenOffice.org foundation. The conference is targeted towards users and potential users in schools, businesses, etc. Here are some highlights from the program:

- Strategy on switching to OpenOffice.org.
- An economical view on switching from MS Office to OpenOffice.org.
- Training needs.
- How to solve compatibility issues.
- Large-scale installation and deployment."

First of all thanks for submitting these news according to the new policy :-) ....
I have a question for you: the two last themes discussed at this event are very interesting, and in the mean time a bit unusual.
Do you have an actual methodology that you are publicly disclosing for MS Office -> OpenOffice.org migrations?
Usually, I would have said that this kind of methodology is part of the treasure chest of any consulting company providing services around OOo; hence, they don't really talk about how they do it, much less in public.
Can you explain me how you do this in Norway?

Regards,

Charles.

 Translation Progress
------------------------------------------

The Norwegian translators are working hard these days, updating their
translations to OpenOffice.org 2.0. We hope to provide test versions
quite soon, and expect to deliver the translations for the final
version on schedule.
