Hi Everyone, I'm happy. The IRC conference went went very well. I admit I was nervous, but it went very well. A lot of people came, and they liked the talk. Yay! By my count, we had 16 attendees. That's pretty good for a channel that is usually populated only by a robot :-)
The talk took 20min (longer than I expected). The discussion afterwards was very good. We exchanged a lot of ideas, got to meet new people (great meeting you Aiet!). It was great. I have posted the IRC logs on the conference page: http://native-lang.openoffice.org/conference/ It's at the bottom, in the "previous talks" page. Coming next time, in two weeks, is Ian Lynch. Ian is the head of the OpenOffice.org for Schools project. He will talk to us about his INGOTs program. I've seen him talk about INGOTs, and I think it's a very exciting idea. I highly recommend it. I think the next talk should be either 3h earlier, or 3h later. So we can grab people from other timezones. If it is 3h earlier we'll grab people from Japan and Australia. If it is 3h later we'll grab people from the North American west coast. Let's see what Ian decides. Ian, when you have slides ready, let me know. Maybe you can grab your presentation from San Diego and shorten it down to a lighting talk ? Finally, thank you all for comming! You guys made my day.
