Greetings everyone,

I'd like to announce the next IRC conf:

    "Learning through Participation" by Ian Lynch.

    Day:   Next Sunday, March 20.
    Time:  21:30 UTC
    URL:   http://native-lang.openoffice.org/conference/

Ian is the lead of the OOo for schools project. He will be talking to us about
the INGOTs (www.theingots.org) and how it gives us a chance to educate kids
about open source and open standards.

I have seen his talk, and I strongly recommend it. I admit I didn't "get" this
project until I talked to Ian. But when he explained in to me, I loved it. The
design is very clever. It is perfect for a wide distribution in an open source
medium. It is designed in a way that it can truly have a global reach.

This talk is later than the previous one. So now we'll be able to get people
from some different timezones. It's good to alternate times, so we can reach
more people.

About the IRC confs:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are starting a series of bi-weekly IRC conferences. These are informal
conferences, around 10-20min each. They are followed by a Question & Answer
period, and then group discussion.
The purpose of these talks is to encourage different language communities to
exchange ideas. It also provides an opportunity for people who do not normally
meet each other, to meet in a friendly environment.
You can see the logs for last week's talk on the IRC conf web page:
Cheers,
