Hi First of all- sorry that I am sending the same mail to both l10n and native-lang.I want more critics on this issue. Especially Malayalees.
I have been following Arial Unicode MS font which accepts Malayalam as it is. So I have been using it. But only recently have I found that most other fonts and Microsoft Karthika font are using a slight variation which forces me to make really big changes in the glossary and strings. Because 'vowel signs' can be placed anywhere in Arial Unicode MS but must be placed after 'Constants' in others. So I am changing it now. The Website http://ml.openoffice.org is updated and thus can be seen with any Malayalam Unicode font correctly. I have also loaded a glossary page http://ml.openoffice.org/glossary.html which contains 100 string translated. There are some error-like characters shown in between but this is the most correct state I can achieve because I look into future of Computer Malayalam. Further clarifications are given in http://ml.openoffice.org/faq.html I am waiting for opinions and reviews. Especially from the Indic group. Moreover my final year exam starts from May 16th to June 8th. So the work takes a bit more lag. Manu __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - You care about security.
