Hello, here's the report on the NLC meeting. Although we're in the release phase of the 2.0, I think it's worth reporting our discussions that have taken place in Koper and the decisions that have been made there. - The talks about Pootle, the central repository for the localization files should take place to the [email protected] lists - The existing templates for the NL web sites should get reviewed and we should decide if they have to be a)updated b)maintained c)deprecated but then a common set of contents (minimun set of information and guidelines) should be defined - Since the releas cycle is changing to a 6 months basis, it is time to establish together with the L10N and QA projects, a process for localized releases that works for everybody/largest majority.
As for the discussions and "news", I'd like to report that: - the Czech native-language project has agreed to use a PR agency to help with media relations and contact on a non-monetary basis; Pavel asked the NLC leads if they felt comfortable with it. The answer was that it was a good idea, but that the relationship between the NL project and the PR agency (who will use OOo as a case study) has to be clearly defined. - I am trying to see if it is possible for the Norwegian project to translate its documentation for the 2.0; as far as I know, they're still waiting for funding. - Alexandro Colorado has explained that there were many Spanish testers and developpers who were available but who could not contribute either because of linguistic reasons, either because they didn't know how to use CVS. In this regard, it was advised that they get developper rights or at least content developper' rights and that they could upload their patches/tests to the Documents & Files section of the site. Meanwhile, a wiki is now being tested on SourceCast and should help with this in the future. - the IRC meetings on a bi-weekly basis should start again; either I will open them either Daniel Carrera will be able to solve its technical issues hindering him to upload content on the site. If others have other points that I may forget, please tell me. Hope this helps, Charles. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
