hi all,
First, thanks all for using, when you can, the localisation qa
process! In case you are not yet familiar with it, it is here, http://
qa.openoffice.org/localized/index.html
Some important points:
* Once a localized build has been tested and it has passed the tests,
then its entry on the Status page should be updated.
* An IssueZilla ticket should be filed against the QA component so as
to move the tested builds over to the /localized directory for proper
downstream dissemination and to update the pages. Mirrors need to be
notified by the Distribution project lead.
* Finally, once the mirror network has indicated that the builds have
been successfully uploaded into the proper directory, the builds may
be announced by the appropriate persons, such as the Native-Lang
leads and Community Manager.
What this means is that you must file the issue to notify Stefan and
others to move the builds to the appropriate location.
As to who updates the webpages? You--or whomever you designate--are
the ones in charge of that. I can provide a template listing
mirrors--there is one already available--but it is the responsibility
of the NLC projects to keep their download pages up to date. We
agreed on this process about 3, 4 years ago, as otherwise it gets to
be madness. If you can come up with a better process, including one
that totally automates this, go ahead :-) Right now it's done pretty
much manually, hence the inefficiencies.
Feel free to update me or the others on [email protected] of
updates. Also, if you want your build announced, Charles and I are
more than happy to do so. This applies really to any news you think
is worthwhile (that can be very inclusive!) The world needs to know
of the work being done by you :-)
Cheers,
Louis
