hi,

I'm Jia Yanmin, a Ph.D. candidate of Open System & Chinese Information
Processing Center, Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences. Granted
by 863 Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China, we developed an
office suite supporting Tibetan, Mongolian, and Uigur based on OpenOffice.org.
Many features about the above three languages were implemented in
OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 such as the special text writing direction of Mongolian (
from left to right vertically), the line breaking behavior of Tibetan, the
transliteration between Tibetan and Latin and so on. The picture included in
the attachment shows Tibetan, Monglian, Uighur and Chinese text displaying in
different writing directions in the OpenOffice.org. Tibetan is a widely
interested language in the world. In order to build a communicating platform
for the people working on all aspects related Tibetan localization and
supporting in the OpenOffice.org, our developing team want to create and
maintain a Native-Lang project for Tibetan as the first step. We will plan to
do the further work with l10n together to surport Tibetan in the OpenOffice.org.

Best Regards!

        Jia Yanmin
