We've already translated the main OOo Wiki page and several others, but there's no way for our users to find these translations from the original pages. How do I get Vietnamese in the language box on the front page? That will certainly help the users. However, how do they know which other pages have been translated? In other wikis, we've used language bars, but I notice the WikiMedia wikis don't do that. Does the link for your language on the front page lead only to translated pages?
Answering some of my own question here for people who might search the archives...
When you edit an OOo wiki page (or any MediaWiki), and the part you want to change is only represented by something like:
{{name}}you need to find that template. Simply attach that name to the Template namespace: in the case of the template Language:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/mwiki/index.php? title=Template:Language
and edit it.That takes care of the language name. However, within the Language template, there is another thing that looks like it might also be a template:
{{{1}}}but AFAI can tell, the three curly brackets indicate a placeholder. Unfortunately, my ISP has some kind of problem, so I'm unable to load the Help pages, among other things. I'll sort the rest of this out when I can access the info.
