By the time you read this, there will have been over two million downloads
of OpenOffice.org via the ‘bouncer’ since we announced
OpenOffice.org 3.0. The bouncer is the main (but not the only) mechanism
for users to download the software, and it was largely inaccessible while
the main OpenOffice.org download page was down.

This is an incredible achievement - have a great weekend telling your

Sorry John, but I don't find the number valid.

First of all, bouncer counts all attempts, not the downloads. Second, the bouncer is down again (!), so we don't know anything about neither downloads nor attempts.

From my perspective, we should be *very* careful about using statistics that are not reliable.

Another issue is; how can we live with bouncer being down (unreachable for download or statistics) now after a week ? What are the purpose of using bouncer?
