With my Beam lenses, there's no meaningful difference between 2.5.0 and 2.6.0 (relevant in this context). Upgrade should be easy as well. Anything goes.
A comment was made earlier that the first release will be finalized between 8/21 and 8/31. This would be *awesome*, but sounds like a bit aggressive timeline. To make a release, the minimum time would be 6 days (2 votes with 72 hours each). That often happens for later releases, but the first one tends to require a few release candidates. Most often, I've seen that the first release takes 2-3 weeks to get quite right. Of course, mentors are here to cut the time as much as possible, so do reach out if mentors can be of any assistance.
