Apache NetBeans parent pom is intended for use in the Apache NetBeans maven project and to be parent for the Apache NetBeans Maven artefacts You should specify the version in your project as parent like the following: <parent> <groupId>org.apache.netbeans</groupId> <artifactId>netbeans-parent</artifactId> <version>2</version> </parent> You can download the appropriate sources etc. from the download page: http://netbeans.apache.org/download/maven/ Release Notes This is the first out of incubator release.
