Regardless of how we end up doing the conversion of bitmap icons to SVG, it would be useful to reach a consensus on the graphical style to use.
A while back I typed up a proposed style guide here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2617 This is the style used in my NetBeans Platform application, which looks like this: https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/13011239/ScreenshotExample.png Here are examples of a few icons that have been redrawn from bitmap to SVG in this style (and Pete Whelpton also attached a few more ton NETBEANS-2617): https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12970381/style%20example.png The main principle is to keep the overall shapes and colors of the existing NetBeans icons, but modernize them by (1) vectorizing the shapes, (2) omitting unnecessary shadows, (3) omitting gradients, and (4) making outlines less pronounced. Do people like this style? -- Eirik
