Well, one way to test this would be adding the 12.3 update centre to a clean copy of 12.0? We could pretty much enable this now via opt-in UC redirects? At least for testing purposes. While I like this, we'd need to do quite a bit of work on the infrastructure side to make it easier, and fit with ASF mirroring / policies. At the moment, we're fairly set for doing full releases - delivering the updates we do is a bit of a pain. And we'd need to work out how to handle the source releases that are what we officially release. Would they be just the updated NBMs, or as present a full source snapshot? How would we do (well, ensure) testing in release phases of the upgrade path? Would we stop blanket increment of all spec versions except at new "LTS" then?
