Thanks, that seems to have done it.

The build now works for the ‘basic’ cluster.

I also tried to do the ‘full' build with JDK 17 but it fails in the j2ee 
module.  Apparently this isn’t unexpected. I didn’t realize the changes between 
JDK 11 and 17 were enough to break things like that.

yes this is expected. Contributions welcome, lets continue those efforts incrementally until we can build everything using current JDKs.
