There are a couple of threads on this by now and I'm not sure if the following "semi-solution" has been posted.
A couple of weeks ago the clipboard went bust on me in NB 15. I tried a couple of things and I got it working again without restarting NB. Today it happened again but this time in NB 16, this gave me a chance to reduce and verify my steps. The only thing I needed to do to make the clipboard working again was Hit CTRL-X in NB without any selection being made (cut the whole line). Perhaps CTRL-C works too.
