That's my understanding as well.
I think I'll try to recover the original events page, as currently in
master. May take a few days, though.
Thanks,
Antonio

The PR seems to include an even larger image, but I don't mind either.
I don't believe we have to use
https://netbeans.apache.org/events/current-event/ for our own events. I think
the ASF just wants all subdomains to reference
www.apache.org/events/current-event.html

Hi all,
Just for the record I'm forwarding this email, from
"[email protected]", in the scope of NETBEANS-636 (podling
website checks [1]): we are requested to help promote ASF-wide events
page by including an image [2] in our main page. More instructions at [3].
I'll try to fulfill this requirement in PR#32 ([4]) as time permits. I
think the following snippet:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<a href="https://www.apache.org/events/current-event.html">
<img src="https://www.apache.org/events/current-event-125x125.png"/>
</a>
Somewhere in the page will do.
Cheers,
Antonio

Hi again,
The NetBeans (incubating) project has an events page at
http://netbeans.apache.org/community/events.html in order to pass the
"website checks" we are planning to move that to "/events/index.html".
Thanks for reviewing the site checker, and for your questions!
That's not the purpose of the event check - it's for all Apache projects
to provide some sort of link to the ASF-wide events page, which covers
any major Apache event, and always includes ApacheCon (which features a
great NetBeans overview talk this September...)
Details of what the current event check is looking for - which is
essentially a single spot for the ASF-wide event link:
http://apache.org/events/README
Since NetBeans is such a large project and already has regularly run
events, you should also keep your existing event page - that can be
linked/located wherever makes sense for the PMC, obviously.
Feel free to share this on dev@netbeans.
We don't have such a thing as a "current-event", in order to pass the
checks, would it suffice to:
a)
Redirect "http://netbeans.apache.org/events/current-event" to
"http://www.apache.org/events/current-event" ?
b)
Redirect "http://netbeans.apache.org/events/current-event" to
"http://netbeans.apache.org/events/index.html"?
What's the goal of the "current-event" directory?
Thanks,
Antonio Vieiro
