I don't see why we can't merge and have to work on the 2nddonation branch. We control from nbbuild/cluster.properties what gets built/released so we can't leak the new modules anyhow.
I would say we merge and start working on the modules in master/ As modules are ready we could start enabling them in cluster.properties and have nightly builds with them. --emi ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ Original Message ‐‐‐‐‐‐‐ On 26 July 2018 2:42 PM, Geertjan Wielenga <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > > 2nd donation, constituting tools for Jakarta EE, JavaScript, PHP, Groovy, > and integration with various other Web development technologies, is here on > a branch: > > https://github.com/apache/incubator-netbeans/tree/2ndDonation > > The above need to be processed, I suggest we do that on the branch, as > outlined here: > > https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-1074 > > I provided a PR today for relicensing via the tool Jan Lahoda created: > > https://github.com/apache/incubator-netbeans/pull/640 > > If we accept the above PR and then merge the branch into main, the Rat > report will show lots of (probably thousands) of files that have missing or > incorrect licenses. > > Hence, in the same way as we did for the 1st donation... > > https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/List+of+Modules+to+Review > > ...we need to assign modules to ourselves and examine them file by file, as > done above, and here's the page with tables per cluster for the 2nd > donation: > > https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/2nd+Donation%3A+List+of+Modules+to+Review > > Comments, feedback, welcome, and feel free to start assigning modules to > yourself on the above page and start working through them as described in > the page for the 1st donation. > > Note: The 2nd donation will not necessarily be integrated in 9.0-next > (i.e., 9.1 or 10 depending on how we'll be versioning the next release > after 9.0), and thus far in our discussions we seem to be converging around > a quarterly release, with the next one after 9.0 being towards the end of > the year or beginning of next, though this is all open for discussion at > this point. > > Thanks, > > Gj --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] For further information about the NetBeans mailing lists, visit: https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/Mailing+lists
