Hi Alex, Happy to hear that NiFi capabilities will help you! Not to answer your question directly; have a look at this repo https://github.com/Chaffelson/nipyapi. It’s not an official project under NiFi but I have used it before with python to automate some tasks. I am sure it will shade some lights on your challenges.
