Over the last 1-2 months I've been finishing up the work on NIFI-9770 and
have a branch here:

https://github.com/MikeThomsen/nifi/tree/NIFI-9770

David and I have been talking about this, and I agree with him that there's
a lot of complexity there to maintain, especially in the tests that I wrote
with support from Claude Code.

Currently, the branch has two record-based processors (PutCQLRecord and
ExecuteCQLQueryRecord) as well as a DistributedMapCacheClient
implementation. It also has full drop-in support for ScyllaDB.

So I'm opening up the discussion to the broader dev mailing list for
feedback because there has been a lot of demand for CQL (Cassandra and
ScyllaDB) support in 2.X.

I'm more than happy to break up the branch into smaller PRs and/or move the
integration tests to a separate PR. Looking for feedback because this
branch is much more complete (AFAICT) than most initial drops so it's a lot
heavier on LoC than a usual new bundle.

Thanks,

Mike
