Bryan, As part of the on boarding process (and verifying everything is setup correctly) I know the first few activities have been to add yourself to the listing of committers for http://incubator.apache.org/projects/nifi.html and as part of the team on https://nifi.incubator.apache.org/people.html.
Instructions for the prior page are available at http://www.apache.org/dev/cms.html#usage. The latter has instructions at https://github.com/apache/incubator-nifi/blob/develop/nifi-site/README.md but is a bit more involved. Working on getting the latter a bit more polished for a variety of environments as part of the contribution guides, but haven't quite gotten there yet.
