We should ideally create a virtual environment within a folder where we have
our single version of python. If we do this, then we would not need to support
future (or past) versions of python. We should not be using the system version
of python and the system dependencies but should be handling our environment
(either virtual or conda) ourselves. I recommend closing this ticket and I will
create one where we are to create and manage our own python environment.
