The way that releases are done, the pom.xml in the 2.x is NOT updated, however
the release branch and the corresponding tag ARE. This now means that the
pom.xml in the 2.x branch is out of sync with the tags which are released from
it.
Some tweaking to the pom.xml and the release process should resolve this issue.
