Thanks for the response.
If I can follow up a bit more on passing the date through to Solr. I've found
that unless I manipulate it to be type Date at the indexing stage, then solr
rejects it unless the field in the solr schema is of type string(/text/etc). Is
this normal? If so, what's the 'best' way to change it into a date at the
indexing stage? If not... what am I doing wrong?
