Thanks Owen, appreciate you sending this in. The way it works is: 1. Basically propose or find an existing project in the NUTCH issue tracker: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NUTCH and search for labels gsoc2015.
2. Work with a mentor on Nutch’s PMC to identify and have a project ready. 3. Develop your GSoC proposal in response to #1, work with your mentor 4. Submit your project 5. If your project is selected, you are good to go.
