+1 - good signatures - tests pass - I've successfully run a test crawl (bin/crawl) using HBase 0.98.8
Two minor points: - CHANGES.txt mentions the rc1 release date: > Nutch 2.3.1 Release 22092015 (ddmmyyyy) Shouldn't this be the current date? - I've had to manually install hbase-common-0.98.8-hadoop2.jar into runtime/local/lib/ Shouldn't this be automatically done as (indirect) dependency of gora-hbase?
