---------- Forwarded message --------- From: kisvegabor (LVGL) Date: Mon, Nov 4, 2024, 09:37 Subject: 2024 November newsletter Hey CeDeROM, How have you been recently? I have some exciting updates to share! š *Project Creator* We just released Project Creator v1.1 <https://lvgl.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9c0f58244b4c1f00c4f9a5ec9&id=0b1cf44138&e=5e2ea875ff>, addressing initial issues and introducing some new features: - *Mac compatibility:* It now works seamlessly on Mac (apologies for the earlier inconvenience). - *Search bar:* A sidebar for easier searching and filtering. - *NuttX projects:* The first NuttX projects (not maintained by LVGL) are now included, paving the way for more third-party projects. - *Bug fixes:* Various small fixes have been made to enhance performance. It looks like this now: We're also working on *Eclipse integration* and haven't given up yet. If you have experience running React applications in Eclipse's WebView and are interested in a side project, please reach out. š Over the next month, our focus will be on adding more projects to make this tool even more valuable for you! By the way, we recently reached *5,000 downloads*! Iām thrilled, as we plan to promote this tool more widely once we expand our project selection. For now, 5K downloads is a great start. š ------------------------------ *UI Editor* Progress on the Editor is moving fast. Earlier this year, we talked with key industry players to fully understand the challenges their developers face. We have secured the required founding, and now weāve now moved into full-scale development! š Our first major milestone is a detailed Design document. The Editor is developer-focused, leveraging an XML-based declarative languageāsimilar to HTML and CSSāto streamline UI design and development workflows. This tool will enable your team to create, modify, and manage LVGL-based UI projects with greater flexibility and speed. Now is a perfect time to get involved, as your feedback can directly shape its direction. A whisper: weāre aiming to showcase version 0.1 by the end of this year. š¤ ------------------------------ *LVGL Updates* *New Release(s)* We were too productive with LVGL. In one week we have released v9.2.1 and v9.2.2. 𤦠- *v9.2.1:* A normal patch release, backporting many fixes from the master branch. - *v9.2.2:* A hotfix for v9.2.1 after a last-minute update affected Kconfig builds š We apologize for the inconvenience. Please use v9.2.2 instead of v9.2.1. To prevent similar issues, weāre implementing countermeasures: - A one-week feature freeze before releases - Additional CI build tests - Testing on a defined set of devices and environments *Rendering Updates* Weāve integrated two major rendering backends in LVGL: - *OpenGL:* We cache software-rendered content to OpenGL textures and use OpenGL for blending, resulting in a 3x performance boost. - *STMās NeoChrom (Nema by Think Silicon):* Similar to other embedded GPUs, this option (enabled in lv_conf.h) achieves 1.5-2x better performance. *New Demo* Our eBike demo <https://lvgl.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9c0f58244b4c1f00c4f9a5ec9&id=10fee9ea26&e=5e2ea875ff>, showcased at Embedded World in Nuremberg and Texas, is now published. Optimized for 480x270..480x320 and 480x800..720x1280 resolutions, it includes: - Multi-language support - Lottie animations - Widget transformations *Electronica Fair in Munich* Mish <https://lvgl.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9c0f58244b4c1f00c4f9a5ec9&id=e14eeedf91&e=5e2ea875ff> and I will be at the Electronica fair in Munich on Tuesday, November 12.
