This is the off-season here for tourism. It is the rainy season and
October is the peak: Sun in the morning, but rain beginning in the
afternoon. The high tourist season begins at the end of the rainy
season at the beginning of December.
The upside is that you can probably get great deals on flights and
resort hotels if you want some beach time before or after the meeting.
I like the beaches in the rainy season. There are no huge crowds; you
have beach time in the morning and then move to a ranchero for pescado
entero frito and cerveza Imperial for the afternoon. Makes for a pretty
nice day.
