My name is Satoru, and I am interested in the GSoC 2026 project "Dropbear port (or other SSH Server/Client) to NuttX." I work as an EdgeAI engineer at Sony Semiconductor Solutions, where I use NuttX from the application side — primarily with SPRESENSE and ESP32-based edge AI camera systems. Being able to SSH into NuttX boards for remote debugging and maintenance is something I have wanted myself, so this project aligns naturally with my daily work. I have already set up a development environment (Docker + QEMU ARM) and have NuttX 12.7.0 running successfully. I have also done a preliminary porting analysis of Dropbear, focusing on the fork()/pthread, PAM, and PTY gaps. The work-in-progress repository is here: https://github.com/wwlapaki310/gsoc2026-nuttx-ssh This will be my first open-source contribution. I don't have specific questions at this point, but if there is anything I should keep in mind when preparing my proposal, I would appreciate any advice. I will follow up once my proposal draft is ready. Best regards, Satoru https://github.com/wwlapaki310 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Satoru Akita mail: [email protected] tel: 07041572275
