Hello all, With AI agents becoming part of modern software development, we have been exploring how these tools can help us in Apache OFBiz development.
So far, we’ve experimented with OpenAI Codex Cloud, and we also plan to evaluate Google Gemini CLI and Claude Code in the near future. Our goal is to understand how AI agents can assist with tasks like debugging, test automation, code review and even contributing to Apache OFBiz Jira tickets, ultimately helping us accelerate development while maintaining quality. As part of this effort, we’re creating a series of documents under: *Documentation* → *AI Driven Development* The first document is now live here: Guide: Setting up OpenAI Codex Cloud for Apache OFBiz Development <https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/x/3AkbFw> This guide is meant to help any Apache OFBiz developer quickly get started with Codex Cloud, covering repo setup, environment configuration, and task workflows. Soon, more guides will follow in the same section as we expand into other AI agents and share real-world experiences. We’d love for community members to: - Review the document and share feedback or improvements. - Share your own experiences if you’ve tried Codex, Gemini, Claude, or any other AI agent for Apache OFBiz development. The more we exchange knowledge, the better we can shape practices for using AI to make Apache OFBiz development faster and more productive. Looking forward to your thoughts!
