I did not change
/opt/ofbiz/specialpurpose/ecommerce/webapp/ecommerce/customer/editcontactmech.ft
but only
ofbiz/branches/release09.04/specialpurpose/ecommerce/webapp/ecommerce/WEB-INF/controller.xml
I just retested on stable demo and it works (same scenario than above)
