Hi Guys,

I would like to bring up for discussion how we plan to handle the EOL of Java
SE 6 in July 2012 [1]?

So far my local testing shows that you can't build OFBiz using JDK 7 and with
only a few months left before we have to all have upgrade (unless you fancy
nasty security holes in your deployment - Ubuntu are pulling their JDK 6
packages very soon [2] ) I think we need some sort of plan.

I have a couple of questions that perhaps someone might be able to answer:
a) Does the changes to support Java 7 need back porting to the older releases
of OFBiz as bug fixes?
b) Can we setup buildbot with both Java 6 & 7 so that a branch could be
established to get the bug fixes started?

I am sure there is a lot more to think about!

Sam
