I think it's time to *think* about it (ie turn to jdk 7). I don't mean to
change things, simply think about them, prepare them...
Maybe more?
Thanks

Hi all,
Oracle 7 is based on OpenJDK 7, so it might work.
Since Sam's message, OFBIZ-4638 has been committed which will help.
OFBIZ-3993 and OFBIZ-4749 are unresolved, but these issues have a patch or a
suggestion for resolution. So I think there has been progress.
Cheers

Actually I was more interested about running under Oracle 7 because of EOL
of Java SE 6 in July 2012

Hi Guys,
I would like to bring up for discussion how we plan to handle the
EOL of Java SE 6 in July 2012 [1]?
So far my local testing shows that you can't build OFBiz using
JDK 7 and with only a few months left before we have to all have
upgrade (unless you fancy nasty security holes in your deployment
- Ubuntu are pulling their JDK 6 packages very soon [2] ) I
think we need some sort of plan.
I have a couple of questions that perhaps someone might be able
to answer:
a) Does the changes to support Java 7 need back porting to the
older releases of OFBiz as bug fixes?
b) Can we setup buildbot with both Java 6 & 7 so that a branch
could be established to get the bug fixes started?
I am sure there is a lot more to think about!
