I'm not sure about Eclipse convention. It's more ASF convention I guess.

It seems restriction is simply folder names allowed characters (though project 
and folder names can be different)

Still, Christian's proposition sounds good to me. I have also an old reflex to 
use dash in names, though now it should not be required, on any platform.

So, if nobody is against it, I will go that way.
