Jacopo, First of all: the OFBiz community is larger than the readers of the dev mailing list. Have a look at the numbers of both the user and the dev mailing list.
Though it can be that the code of the referenced components hasn't had any love with respect to updates etc, it might be so that there are still users out there that are satisfied with the functionality and haven't had any noticeable complaints. But you can't tell without surveying/querying these customers. Before removal, I would advice to start with a question in the user mailing list. And if there is a reaction, assess whether or not it should be put to the attic. Would be good for community involvement.
