Thanks Divesh, That's the most elaborate description I have ever received
on the OFBIZ issue, esp on Drop ship related JIRA.
In our case, we had use MarketingPackage as what the name suggest. It was
created for marketing purpose (re branding). The product could be
manufactured in house or supplied by the supplier, but we were re branding
it. There could be multiple Marketing Packages linking to same
manufacturing part. Auto industry does that today. And some of the brands
do that for apparel as well.
Also, we had some scenarios, where our supplier was so small we wanted to
send them packing slip along with purchase order. We wanted to provide them
login to our system.
BTW, I have moved on to ATG (Oracle ECommerce) and no longer supporting the
company that was doing the drop shipment. Effectively, I am not looking for
solutions to issues I have opened. But I believe, resolving some of those
issues might make life simpler for someone using OfBiz for DropShipment and
MarketingPackage.
