Thanks for your comment. This is how I think about this(Hopefully you will be
agreed from my thoughts.)
-- There are two terms that we see in our day to day life. They are "New
Feature" and "Improvements". I will not provide additional details about these
two terms. :-)
Important points to consider:
-- If we talk about "Improvement" which is of 10-15 lines code then I will say
if improvement was done to take care of some incomplete functionality(in a way
we can call it bug) then we should welcome it. Regarding to this Improvement,
it only contain the few lines of code and make our software user friendly. We
all as a committer, end user totally understand that such improvements are
making end user life easy. I remember that this was also discussed on mailing
list multiple that we should encourage such small Improvements that are back
ported in branches.
