Pierre Smits commented on OFBIZ-6087:
-------------------------------------
Good question, [~jacques le roux]!
But aren't requirements depended on the business processes of adopters/users?
So far, we have established the following kinds of adopters/users of OFBiz:
* various company types in different sectors (Retail and Trade - ecommerce,
Manufacturing, Professional services, etc.) in various sizes (SMALL - e.g.
mom-and-pop setups, MEDIUM and LARGE), each having their specifics regarding
local legislation (or even having a cross border impact legislation wise)
* users in various business domains, like accounting, sales, manufacturing,
projects, marketing, user mgt, etc.
* OFBiz developers working on proprietary solutions and not contributing to the
project
* OFBiz developers contributing to the project
* System admins responsible for adopter specific OFBiz setup ups.
All these drive the requirements. And catering (more or less) to that drives
the appeal of the product.
So, if there is ambiguity/confusion regarding what OFBiz delivers visavis
requirements maybe we should make that clear first. That way we create a
unified and clear message to any (potential) adopter, and have less confusing
questions in the user ml.
Food for thought: Is OFBiz a hammer, or something like a Leatherman multi-tool?

> Currently the ./ant create-tenant only allows to set a single type and
> access/location details (host, port, userid and password) for the OLTP and
> OLAP rdbms.
> It should be possible to set different types and access/location details for
> the rdbms variants.
