Dear Michael,
Thanks for your reply. In the meantime I have managed to overcome this
problem. I suspect the issue with update requests had to do with the
specification of the correct content type for the request in my REST client.
When specifying content type application/atom+xml it looks like things start
working for my service and all CRUD operations are now successful.
