Hi Christian/Michael,
great, thanks for the positive replies!

For sure interested to contribute more, but let me first contribute something
to see if you all like it :-)

I created a public copy at github and will work from that one.

Hi Martin,

awesome to hear you would like to contribute :)

I don't think there has been a lot of work and the branch is also not up to
date with the current master branch. So I
think the first step here would be to use the current master branch as a basis
for further development.

As for architecture we have not yet discussed any details on this mailing list.
So you are basically free to start
wherever you like. Also I don`t think you can reuse much from the V2 JPA code
as there have been a lot of changes
between the V2 core library and the V4 core library.

Also if you like to contribute I can reccoment to create a free github
repository and replicate the Apache Git
Repository there. This way you can implement easier and push changes to your
private repository easily without rights
issues. Also it is easier to review commits in the Github web UI compared to
patchfiles send to the mailing list in my
opinion. This method was also used by a student who has been working on Olingo
code for the Google Summer of Code. Of
course if you are interested in contributing more regularly we can talk about a
committer status for you.

The first step anyway is to subscribe to this dev mailing list J

Best Regards,

Christian

Hi Martin,

Nice to see your interest in OData and especially in Olingo ;o)

I see that there are 2 commits done for olingo-549 (the odata4-jpa jira
issue):

https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf?p=olingo-odata4.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/OLINGO-549-ODataV4-JPA

Has any other work been done already on odata4-jpa, which I can use/build
further on?

And your interest in the JPA extension.

Are there ideas to do major restructure of the jpa code going from odata2 to
odata4, or other changes/insights for the
odata2 code moving to odata4?
How much/what parts of the odata2-jpa code can be re-used for odata4?

Because I’am myself not so familiar with the JPA extension in Olingo V2 I can
not answer those questions.

However, probably Chandan could answer this and/or support you with the first
steps around JPA extension in Olingo V4.

From my side I can offer that if you want to contribute into the
"OLINGO-549-ODataV4-JPA" branch I can assist you.

Best Regards,

Michael

Looking forward to work on this and any comments/input you may have!

Thanks

gr. Martin
